It is with regret but understanding that we announce the resignation of Kevin Ireland from his role as President of the Ottawa Irish Rugby Club. After 2.5 years of dedicated service, Kevin has decided to step down from their position. Kevin will remain active in the club with our special projects, alumni, and fundraising portfolios and as a supporter of the green and gold.
During their tenure, Kevin has played an instrumental role in the growth and success of our club and our ability to rebound from the impacts of COVID-19. His commitment, passion, and vision have left an indelible mark on our community, and we are immensely grateful for their contributions.
While we bid farewell to Kevin we are pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Lafrance as Acting President. Jamie has served on the board for 3 years as VP of Marketing and Communications, and additionally as a coach and one of the administrators of our Junior Boys programs. Jamie will hold the responsibilities of both VP Marketing and president until a formal election can be held.
A special general meeting will be held no later than May 25th to appoint a new full-time president, and to fill any other gaps on the board.
